The Solid Rock
by Edward Mote
My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness.
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly trust in Jesus’ Name.
Refrain
On Christ the solid Rock I stand,
All other ground is sinking sand;
All other ground is sinking sand.
When darkness seems to hide His face,
I rest on His unchanging grace.
In every high and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the veil.
Refrain
On Christ the solid Rock I stand,
All other ground is sinking sand;
All other ground is sinking sand.
His oath, His covenant, His blood,
Support me in the whelming flood.
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my Hope and Stay.
Refrain
On Christ the solid Rock I stand,
All other ground is sinking sand;
All other ground is sinking sand.
When He shall come with trumpet sound,
Oh may I then in Him be found.
Dressed in His righteousness alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne.
Refrain
On Christ the solid Rock I stand,
All other ground is sinking sand;
All other ground is sinking sand.
Hi Alesha, Thanks for stopping by my blog. I am delighted to know your MIL was so generous and blessed you with a delightful Christmas gift. On this post: I love all kinds of music and I have a story about hymns. I am a musician and when I go visit my 102 year grandmother in the Assisted Living Facility that is her home now, even the Alzheimer’s patients sing the words to the hymns. I think that is so amazing.

that is so wonderful! I have experienced the same wonderful phenomenon. Those old hymns simply speak to our souls and write their truths there.thanks for stopping by my blog. this is my devotional blog. I have a personal blog too, and you are welcome to drop by any time. :-)www.xanga.com/ObtainingMercy
