A Season of Thanksgiving – Day 15

Today, I'm thankful for hot water.

I know…it doesn't sound very spiritual, does it?  I don't even have a verse to go with it! 😉

But, nevertheless, that is what my heart is full of gratitude to the Lord for today.

Hot water.

Running water.

Indoor plumbing.

Electricity.

A roof over my head.

All the little things I take for granted every day.

Today, I'm going to try to notice them, and give thanks to the Lord for them.

Oh…and hot coffee…yeah…that's a good thing to be thankful for, too!

🙂

I pray that today, no matter your difficult circumstances, you will look for the simple everyday things for which you can give thanks.

In Him,

Alesha

  1. Yes! We really do take so much for granted that so many others live without. I caught myself whining this week when problems with our septic system made it necessary for us to take “Navy” showers. I seriously complained that I had to take a three minute or less hot shower in my private bathroom in my own safe him with clean water, not to mention the electricity that allowed me to see what I was doing and listen to the radio while I was doing it. I am thankful, and I appreciate your prompt to remember to be thankful for all of the things that are normally taken for granted.

  2. Been there, done that too, Cheryl. It is “normal” to complain, I guess. But, we’re not supposed to be satisfied with “normal”, are we? So thankful we can recalibrate our thinking, and rise above the circumstances to express our gratitude to our great God. 🙂
