Are You Thirsty?

Another great idea for the New Year

Newyear

I finally treated myself to a new copy of my old favorite:  Streams in the Desert by L. B. Cowman.

http://rcm.amazon.com/e/cm?lt1=_blank&bc1=000000&IS2=1&bg1=FFFFFF&fc1=000000&lc1=0000FF&t=akconklisxang-20&o=1&p=8&l=as4&m=amazon&f=ifr&ref=ss_til&asins=0310607051

This is the copy I bought.  Although the book has been updated, this is the original version, and it's the one I recommend.  The original copyright of this book was in 1925, which tells you quite a bit about the language it contains.  It is rather poetic and antiquated in some of its phrasing, but I love it. There is a real beauty to it that I find refreshing.

Of all the goals you could set for yourself for this New Year, I pray that one of them is to spend more time in the reading, studying and meditation of God's Word.

No other practice will affect change, promote success or encourage your heart like that will.

Blessing to you today,

Alesha

Friendly Friday

I just wanted to share these pretty Scripture thoughts with you today.

Prov 28 26

They are from Brandie over at BranMadeTags

Psalm 12 6

You can also "like" her on Facebook and see when she come out with new tags.

Weekend

This last one is for you, my bloggy friends! Thank you for praying me through this season of pain and illness.

I continue to have a little more movement each day, although the pain is continuing.  Eventually, though, I know I will survive, thanks to my praying friend like you!!!

Happy Weekend!

Alesha

Helping the People of Japan

If you have decided to give to the relief effort in Japan, I would like to recommend my friend Laura's blog. If you send supplies to Laura and Jerry, I personally GUARANTEE you the supplies will get to the people who were hardest hit by this tragedy. The best part is that along with the supplies, they will be taking the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the people of Japan, as well!

Japan

I will be getting detailed instructions from Laura, probably this evening when she wakes up (they are sleeping right now – it is already Saturday night there.) :)  So if you have any questions, let me know, and I will do my best to find out the answers for you.

I realize this is quite a different post than you are used to reading here.  I decided that I don't want to inundate you, my dear, faithful bloggy readers with too many "jewelry" posts.

So, I did what bloggers do…

I created a new blog!!!

Alesha Kay's Jewelry Blog

You will see a permanent link to it, up on the tabs above this post.  There are links available on that site, if you wish to subscribe by blog reader or by email.  I certainly won't have my feelings hurt if you do neither! ;o)

I hope you do go check it out, though, and give me your thoughts about it.  I always value your input.

I pray you have a great weekend.

Blessings,

Alesha

P.S. I have lost another 4 pounds, bringing my grand total to 31 pounds.  Yay!  We are feeling so much better now that we are back to eating well again. 🙂

P.P.S This necklace will be up in my Etsy shop this weekend!

One More Giveaway Post

…I hope you don't mind. 🙂

I think the title says it all:

The Best Bead Giveaway Ever!

If you've ever been tempted to try your hand at jewelry making, perhaps now is the time!  I will certainly be leaving a comment for this giveaway!!! 🙂

And no, it isn't political!  (just in case you were wondering!) 🙂

Some days, the Lord send me an extra special blessing – just for me!  Today was one of those days.

Vanessa, at A Sweet Fragrance, shared her thoughts on "People, not Vegetables".  It really touched my heart.  I think you will be blessed by it as well.  I especially loved her use of Scripture!  I had never thought about it in those terms before.

Thanks, Vanessa!
