We have good news and bad news.
Which do you usually ask for first?

I always ask for the bad news first.  I like to have
something to look forward to.

So, the bad news is that our doctor/nurse here in town did not
send all of the appropriate tests and results down to Miami.  We had no
idea what they needed and left that to our doctor.  (Guess who will be
taking care of that from now on?!!)

Basically we were there for about an hour and told them
all about Isaac.

The
good news is that we are going to go back on Tuesday, April 3 and they
will admit Isaac to the hospital.  We will be there until Friday.  They
will be running all of their own tests, some of which are tests we've
had done before, but others will be new to us.

We feel like this is good news, because we
will finally be getting some answers.

Basically, this will be a surgery evaluation, as they
will be determining if Isaac is a candidate for a surgery that will
help control the seizures.

We don't know what those surgeries are yet.  We'll be doing
some research during the next couple of weeks, obviously.

Our trip was very smooth and uneventful,
for which we are really grateful.

Thank you so much for the many prayers.  Please continue
them for Isaac.  He had 5 seizures this morning before noon.  TOO MANY
for this mommy!  We did give him the "big" meds after our visit with the
doctor.

I guess that's
all for now.  I'm exhausted and heading for bed.

Much love,

Alesha

Hi all,

We arrived in Miami yesterday afternoon.
Isaac had staring seizures almost non-stop the whole way here.  When
they did stop, he slept – praise the Lord.  They continued throughout
most of the evening, until around 9 PM.

He then decided since Daddy and Mama were in the room with
him, it must be a slumber party!  And with Isaac – he is always the LAST
one to sleep at a sleep over!!!

Finally around 4:30 the morning, he decided
it was time to stop singing and get some rest. ( now,
but  at 4:30 this morning. LOL!)

Right after he went to sleep, he had 3 grand mals – 30
seconds, 20 seconds and 45 seconds.  Now, of course, he is sleeping
soundly and won't wake up to eat before our doctor's visit.

That's ok, though, he needs to sleep some, or
he'll be incredibly grouchy.  I'm just praying we'll be some place
convenient when he does choose to wake, because he will be famished!
(We are working on self control with our little man, but when his tummy
is hungry, most of his control goes out the window!)

So, we'll meet with the doctor at 9:15 this
morning.

Thanks for the
faithful prayers.  I know my God is hearing them.

Isaac's
seizure activity has increased the last couple of days.  Last night and
all day today he has had the small seizures coming in clusters.

Praise the Lord, they have not increased
to the point that we need to medicate him.  We're trying to avoid
giving the "heavy duty" meds, so that he will be clear for the doctor's
visit.  If we give those meds tonight, there will be no seizure activity
for the next 48-72 hours.  We NEED the doctor to SEE some seizure
activity, I think.

Our
doctor did mention that they might do a new kind of test on him to
determine whether he is a candidate for surgery.  I don't relish the
thought of another surgery on his little head.  (We've had 4 major ones
already.)

We are
almost ready to pack up the truck tonight.  Then in the morning, we can
feed Isaac, and hit the road.

I sure would rather be in church tomorrow.  We have missed so
much church during the last month and I really miss it – the fellowship,
the singing and the preaching.  My preacher never preaches a dud!  It's
always SO good!  Whether it's stepping on my toes or blessing my soul,
the Lord always uses him to speak the words I need to hear.

On a positive note, I made Isaac some
new toys today.  He loves to chew on things, especially tags on toys.
My mom had the idea to use shoe strings and ribbons to make a toy for
him.

I've kept up the idea and make him new
ones especially when we're traveling.  These are the ones I did today.

Of course, Daddy insist that I make them
"not girly"!!!  So I hope you can see I included ribbons with
basketballs and fish bones on them!!!!!  How's that for "not
girly"?!!!!  Oh, well, it's fun to do for him, and he enjoys them alot.

I'll update next time
I can.  We hope to be home sometime on Monday evening.

Have a happy Lord's
Day!

Good morning!  I only have time
for a quick "Isaac" update this morning – was too tired last night!

He has had 2 good days, is eating and
sleeping well.  However yesterday evening, he started with the smaller,
shorter seizures that come in clusters.  He had them off and on
throughout the evening.

We are praising the Lord that he slept well last night (at
least until about 5 a.m.) and the seizures did not develop into
something bigger.

We're
headed to Miami on Sunday for our neurologist appointment on Monday.
Would appreciate the prayers for safety in that city!  And for a
productive visit.

Ya'll
have a happy FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just a thought for this morning

Thanksgiving is good but thanks-living is better.

Matthew Henry

Thou
hast given so much to me…Give me one thing more – a grateful heart.

Gratitude is born in hearts that take time to count up
past mercies.

A bee-yoo-tee-ful day
here in the South today!

 100_2879

Isaac had a good day.  He was able to go horseback riding for
the first time in a couple of weeks.  I know it is so good for him when
he gets to go.  He really seems to enjoy it as well.

Work was ok, today – except
that our fax machine/printer/scanner/copier ran out of ink!  Yikes!  And
amazingly enough, we could not purchase ink for it locally.  We had to
order it online from Dell.  Imagine that!  A monopoly on printer ink!

So, I get to call all the
doctor's offices, Early Steps offices, etc. and say "Please send that
fax again.  We didn't get it!"

I am going to be SO popular
tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, and I learned today that the funny little succulent that I
posted yesterday is called a "hen and chicks"!  Isn't that too cute?
Thanks for the help, Colleen and Shanda!

Here's hoping we all have a
peaceful night's sleep and no new outbreaks of the flu!
